Nicose Olives
7.75 oz jar. Roland Nicoise Olives. Also known as “Cailletier”, Niçoise [nee-SWAHZ] olives are commonly cultivated in the Alpes-Maritimes region in France, although they are also grown in Italy. It is a small, oval and symmetrical fruit which ranges in color from purple-brown to brown-black when fully ripe. The name Niçoise implies its curing method, in which they are cured in brine. It is essentially included in the Niçoise salad and is also used as a table olive. These distinctly flavored olives are somewhat nutty and mellow which are great for a wide variety of dishes.
